A Preparation of Impromptu Remarks

About the ‘Blogger’

My name is Jessie, and I blog when I feel compelled to do so. I am genuinely concerned about truth – searching for it, and making it known. I am passionate about right and wrong and believe in absolutes. Lies should be dispelled. I hate apathy, though I am guilty of it at times. I suppose that’s why my blog title and theme is one big contradiction. I’m currently attending college in Chicago, majoring in Jewish Studies. I am interested in getting involved in Middle Eastern media. I studied photography “officially” for a year, and now freelance to make extra pocket change. I’m a hypocrite with a hot temper that I often hide. I also hate writing about myself because then I realize I’m secretly a narcissistic person… and that’s severely annoying.

Will you write a response to Adam’s post on the 48 War please? Although I don’t always agree with what you have to say, I also don’t agree with a lot of what Adam says. Also, you’re much smarter and more informed about this sort of thing than I am, and therefore much more equipped to write a response.

I would love to post it as an actual POST and not as a comment, and finally have an educational opposition to all the rhetoric he has. So don’t make me beg.

Also, Jamie told me about your myspace message to her. I would never think something about you because of someone else you know. Just like I know you don’t hate Jamie when I may piss you off. We’re all adults here, we can distinguish between the real world and silly arguments made through a keyboard and rocketed into cyberspace.

Plus, I look at it this way; you argue from an educational standpoint with your passion as your base(something hard to do and that really takes work and discipline). Others argue passion first without much thought behind it(something that’s easy to do and is usually a sign of youth/immaturity). I argue without choosing a side and therefore never having to really defend anything(something bored people do and is usually a sign of being a jackass). Kidding…sort of.

Well thanks, Grant. Glad to know you don’t think I’m a total extremist nutcase. Funny thing is, I wrote out a long response to the whole “exposé” on the ‘48 war. Then I then trashed it. I guess I could e-mail you something later this week. I like throwing out my beliefs even though Adam (and others) mostly think they are ridiculous. Sometimes it does get a little old and tiring. But hey, may as well give Adam a hard time even if he will write out a refutation making excessive use of the thesaurus and various philosophical theories that somehow prove me to be in the wrong. Kidding… sort of. I do have some degree of ‘fun’ debating with you guys, though. Even if it really ticks me off most of the time.

Congratulations on the baby, by the way! I’m really happy for you and Jamie.

Thank you, I’m pumped to destroy some child’s life and force them into many years of therapy.

I’d love to have a post by you instead of just your comments, so if you have time and desire send it over.

Don’t get mad. I used to get mad too, because I really do have firm beliefs about more things than I let on. I eventually realized that getting angry doesn’t get you anywhere, and it’s silly in the end because it’s just a dumb argument. Just have fun and know you’re right and the other person is wrong. That’s what I do, even when I’m wrong.

I have no idea why Adam uses so many stupid words. I suppose he does it to look more educated. I know he would say that he is simply educating himself if he were to be confronted on the issue.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good new word now and then, but you gotta write to your audience. He should save it for his thesis one day.

i thought i should be courteous enough to let you know, that after i left a comment in response to your recent blog, i went to mine and decided to invite others to the discussion.

you did not mention my name and so i did not mention yours. all i did was write a quickie showing the point of “blog” connection and them gave them links to MY Specific blog on A Muslim Woman’s View and Yours…Here I Go…and letting them know they could leave me comments…i love round table discussion, it’s educating. i hope you agree.

I don’t want this to be JUST you and me going back and forth, I’m interested to see what others are thinking as they read these.

Hey, that’s fine. I enjoy discussion as well, it’s interesting to hear what others think. However, I will have you know that I find it sometimes comes to a point where everyone is just declaring their own beliefs, no one is conceding, and it becomes chaotic and hostile. If it gets to that, I usually choose to shut the discussion down.

Comment by Jessie

well for me it’s not about conceding or even debate, but i’m encouraging readers to leave their comments on my page as long as they want to continue….so your page and you don’t get bombarded…cool?
