I’m running on little to no sleep and decided it’s time for some stream of consciousness fun. So here it goes. Probably will make little to no sense.
I frequently hear the argument that it is “not Christ like” to support the war-mongering, Palestinian-abusing nation of Israel. I could digress to my biblical standpoint on the matter (refer to past entries), but I see that will never get through most people’s skulls. Mostly because it’s soooo antiquated to believe the Bible is the Word of God. Lets see if we can turn ourselves into robots now, make some real progress. Brave New World all the way!
I’m a Christian (aka a ‘loony’). I believe Jews should kill Arabs and push them into cardboard boxes. Strip them of their rights. That’s what Jesus said to do. And that’s what they do all the time. That’s what they want. It’s not like they need to defend themselves or anything. Ever. They need the refugees there. It gives them a good reputation. It’s not like Israel has been cornered into an awkward position and been dealt threats and reprimands on a daily basis that make picking and choosing how to respond without being chewed out or injuring their well being nearly impossible. I learned that from Satan, by the way. Because lets get real, we all know Israel causes the big problems. It all started when those malnourished Holocaust survivors came from sea, grabbed their Uzis and shot up every Arab in sight. Darned Jews. No wonder Hitler went after them. Oh wait, but I forgot, Israel was not disadvantaged at all. Ever. They’ve always been strong and powerful. So it’s really no big deal that they’ve prevailed in war. They deserve no credit. I mean, come on, it’s not like 150 farmers with old rifles holding off 2,500 Egyptians on tanks for six months is remotely unique. There’s got to be some other explanation for their victory. Lets all reach in our behinds now and see what we can pull out.
Jesus does promote love. But Jesus also quotes the Old Testament numerous times, citing the relevance it still has. The New Testament message is very clear that the Abrahamic covenant still stands. So somehow pointing fingers at Israel is Christ like? Stop making up your own hermeneutic. Israel exists today as a largely-Jewish nation. No need to cry about it. Just because most Christians see this as accurate with Scripture, doesn’t mean they think Palestinians should be brutalized. Yeah, there are going to be complicated issues that go along with there being a Jewish nation. But to say that it’s all their (the Jew’s) fault is absolutely ridiculous and child-like.
Anyway, somehow by believing that Jews have the right to the land that they a) legitimately re-gained, b) can trace their roots back to, c) revived, I am siding with killers and occupiers. By thinking it’s ridiculous for Israel to make MORE land concessions, I am promoting brutality and irrationality. Well guess what. I support Israel because, not counting the biblical side of it, I do not think they are war mongering, evil, etc. I think Israel is the one sliver of rationality amongst the surrounding nations run (for the most part) by extreme and Jew-hating, western/democracy-hating, leaders. I realize that the nation is not perfect. No nation is. However, I know that the refugee problem is largely ignored because said some “nations” love the heat it dishes on those cruel and unfair Israelis. Gives them more leverage for chipping away at their agenda. Oh, wait, only Israel is allowed to have a hidden agenda, because they are brutal. Come on, it is granted that everyone has their dirt. Everyone’s abused someone in some way. I’m not saying one side is perfect and the other is not. I’m not for the trampling of the innocent. But GIVE ME A BREAK…
People post shady pictures of Israelis holding machine guns up to Palestinian woman and children and create dramatic videos showing refugee camps juxtaposed to the twisted, laughing faces of cruel and hardened Jews and evil leaders. Seriously. Lets cut the bullshit. Stop being hypocritical with your poorly edited propaganda and one-sided view. If you really care about human beings, how about take that non-partisan stance that is so promoted these days. Is it really necessary to promote the “evilness” of Israelis alongside the Palestinian refugee problem that IS NOT Israel’s fault? At least go about it with some grace, unlike me. There are just as many Jews who have lost family or friends, all over the place, to disgusting acts aimed against them because of their ethnicity. Some scoff at those who think Ahmenijhad or fill-in-the-blank should even be listened to. Oh, he’s just an insane, silly man. He’s not capable of anything. He’ll quiet down. No one else holds his viewpoint, anyway. Just like everyone brushed off Hitler. WRONG. NAIVE. HYPOCRITICAL. Just because leaders like Ahmenijhad don’t speak for everyone, doesn’t mean they don’t have supporters. Everyone says that it’s petty to compare. But it happens on a daily basis. On both sides. It’s impossible not to. But for goodness sake, stop “discrediting” everyone who speaks out irrationally against Israel because it’s just sooo painful to see Israel talked bad about by nutcases. It might give Israel something to complain about. And we don’t want that. People keep trying to take away anything that could be used in Israel’s favor. It is absolutely ridiculous. At least Israel reports about the mistakes they make in their major publications. They could try to hide that, too. I mean, that lack-of-integrity-action would fit the character so many have ascribed to them.
It’s impossible to change minds. But stop taking the pedestal of the more righteous human being. Stop being so lame with cute little quotes and posed pictures. It makes me want to throw up. I try to avoid posting pictures of the aftermath of bus bombings, etc. because it’s been so tainted by all the illegitimate, corny crap out there. The least people can do is stop trying to erase history. Can’t we own up to our mistakes without becoming spineless and saying EVERYTHING is a mistake?
The drain plug had been pulled. It’s only a matter of time before I will be dubbed a complete lunatic. Oh boy, I’m tired. I realize I left many loose ends, but the purpose of this was basically just to say “shut up.”
A short clip from History Channel’s series on desert aces. This episode first aired on August 10, 2007. Giora won his wings in 1963 after an initial rejection into pilot training because of a heart murmur. He participated in his first dogfight after only three prior combat missions, marking the beginning of his successful career.
Giora Epstein is the world’s leading jet ace with seventeen kills, 12 of which were achieved in the Yom Kippur war, 9 of which were in 48 hours. More information here.
Two weeks ago a woman came up to my dad while he was outside mowing the lawn and handed him a pamphlet along with some ribbons. She informed him that she was part of an effort to achieve peace worldwide by passing out… pamphlets and ribbons. The goal is to get ribbons in the hands of everyone in the world and attain international media coverage. The waving of ribbons, coupled with “meditation,” will show people we’re serious about peace and it “just might work.” Genius, really. The marker-decorated pamphlet contained a list of steps for achieving peace alongside “cute” statements and drawings (if you can call them that). Each colored ribbon symbolizes something peaceful and fun. For example, the red ribbon stands for “love, strawberries, and cherries.” The black ribbon, my favorite, stands for “the little train that could.” The list goes on. It’s great. This is perhaps the funniest idea I’ve seen yet. I’m sure there are more bizarre ones out there, though.

According to this pamphlet peace can be achieved in “only 3 Simple steps”: Step #1 - Get ribbons into the hands of everyone across 193 countries, 7 continents. Step #2 - Wave ribbons. Get everyone to wave the ribbons on the same day/time with full media coverage. Step #3 - Request a TRUCE and a CEASE-FIRE and politely and nicely ask for: MEDIATION (TALKING). — Yes, I quoted it verbatim. This organization (whatever it is) seems to think that if the Iraq war ends there will be world peace. Have they forgotten the scads of other conflicts and afflictions in the world? Are they really that naive? Do they really think a cease fire, let alone WAVING RIBBONS, will solve anything? Oh wow. It’s just amusing.
The front of the pamphlet has a picture of three tulips with Song of Solomon 2:12 quoted in flourishing text: “The flowers appear on earth; the time of the singing of birds is come.” How appropriately out of context.
To rely on man’s efforts to bring about peace is misguided and hopeless – no matter how you go about it. We’re all just a bunch of bumbling idiots.
